We are living in interesting times, but our need to be accepted and our desire to belong remain unchanged. Once a vital component of community development, most churches have been relegated to the sidelines.

The same questions of existence, life challenges and the meaning of life, prevalent in all societies, are still being asked, but the discussions normally center on the latest movie rather than the most recent sermon.

We need to go to the people and serve them.

The Community Chaplain is there to link families with resources, to provide vital presence and to listen even when no answers are apparent.
